Yogis in Bintan

After 8 weekends of learning about how to cue asanas, anatomy, mindfulness and yogic philosophies, we finally become full-fledged yoga teachers.

This weekend, my Yoga Teacher Training batchmates and I finally graduated! The ceremony was held in Agro Bintan Beach Resort and Spa in Bintan, Indonesia.

The sunrise view from my room’s balcony.

I had a King Size bed all to myself!

Serious stuff. We did 108 Surya Namaskar.

The 108 Surya Namaskar practice was a beautiful experience. It seems like the focus of each one’s personal yoga truly came out. One of my yoga sisters dedicated every move to the others. Another one wished for all beings to be free from suffering. I was focused on the physicality of chaturangas while appreciating how beautiful the moment was.

Less serious stuff:

We did some acroyoga at the beach and then walking and sitting meditation afterwards.

As for the food, it was all vegetarian:

I can finally share yoga as a teacher.

In the evening we did some relaxing Yin Yoga on the rooftop, with all the lights turned off. Doing lying down yoga postures with nothing but the open night sky above us, just the sound of crashing waves below. It’s a moment I will surely treasure.

We had so much fun! Before we knew it, it was time to get on the bus and take the ferry back to Singapore.

One last #wefie with these beautiful people before we go our separate ways.
